National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)

The Town of Southwest Ranches is one of the co-applicants/co-permittees on a county-wide NPDES permit, wherein Broward County is the lead permittee. NPDES Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit FL S000016-00.

Community Rating System

The Town of Southwest Ranches participates in the Community Rating System (CRS) program, a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
In CRS communities, flood insurance premium rates are discounted to reflect the reduced flood risk resulting from the community’s efforts that address the three goals of the program:

  1. Reduce and avoid flood damage to insurable property
  2. Strengthen and support the insurance aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program
  3. Foster comprehensive floodplain management

ADDRESS ASSIGNMENTS

Before any type of permit application can be reviewed / issued in the Town of Southwest Ranches, a street address must be obtained from the Engineering Department. The property owner will take the assigned address to the post office for their concurrence.
If you require a street address for undeveloped property, please contact the Town’s Engineering Department at publicworks@southwestranches.org or 954-343-7453. The addresses are assigned for emergency response purposes.
