Emergency Management
The Town of Southwest Ranches adopted the National Incidental Management System on July 7, 2005 by Resolution 2005-085. This program helps the Town organize during an emergency and ensure a consistent and accurate flow of information between the Town, Broward County and any other agencies necessary to ensure a quick recovery after an emergency.
Please visit the links below for information on emergency preparedness,Hurricane Season updates and other important information. While we hope to never implement our plans, it's important to have them! Please watch for upcoming trainings and programs related to emergency management in the future.

Law Enforcement
Broward Sheriff's Office District 9 provides law enforcement services to the Town, under the direction and guidance of Captain Linda Canada-Stuck. Many of our BSO deputies have been working in the Ranches for over 5 years!
Our BSO officers drive off-road Dodge Durangos in order to make sure they can handle all calls and emergencies regardless of our rural terrain. Every officer is trained in handling situations with large animals and dark dirt roads.
We always have 2 or more deputies patrolling our Town at all times.
If you have a concern or question for BSO, please contact them at the following numbers:

Volunteer Fire Chief Lee Bennett leads a magnificent team of volunteer fire fighters, who are always ready to help out in every situation! They have taken it upon themselves to map every road in our Town and learned all the ins and outs of our Rural Environment to be better prepared for assisting our residents in emergencies which may include large animal rescue. The department has also created a Reflective Address Marker Program, to help identify homes in the Ranches from a distance in the dark.
